Engineering Manager Polaris Platform is a delivery-focused opportunity based in Bengaluru, India.

We build fundamental infrastructure components that all other RSC product teams at Rubrik build upon, including our microservices architecture, Kubernetes deployment system, distributed job workflow engine, and database instances(Mysql). They are responsible for managing all metadata required to operate RSC, supporting a multi-tenant architecture that serves a diverse and growing set of customers and internal product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• We build fundamental infrastructure components that all other RSC product teams at Rubrik build upon, including our microservices architecture, Kubernetes deployment system, distributed job workflow engine, and database instances(Mysql)
• They are responsible for managing all metadata required to operate RSC, supporting a multi-tenant architecture that serves a diverse and growing set of customers and internal product teams
• What you’ll do Build and drive the product component roadmap Provide leadership to projects from inception to implementation Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement with a metrics driven culture Provide support and guidance that enables the team to self-organize and to achieve sustained high velocity and predictability Help employees grow through career development, coaching, and mentoring while guiding senior contributors to maximize their potential Foster a strong collaborative mindset working closely with peers in Product Management, Architects, and Program Management to bring diverse viewpoints and goals together Bring a zeal for solving customer problems, work closely with Support and cascade the same passion within your team Experience you’ll need A passionate leader who is obsessed with building technically strong teams and has 10+ years of Software Development experience and 1-2 years in Engineering Management role Experience in delivering enterprise-quality scalable Distributed Systems with high quality standards
• Design, build, and improve software systems that support the goals of the Engineering Manager Polaris Platform function.
• Translate product or business requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions.
• Write high-quality code with appropriate testing, code review, and documentation discipline.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and peer engineers to deliver reliable releases.
• Investigate bugs, performance issues, and production risks with a strong root-cause mindset.
• Improve system reliability, observability, and maintainability through thoughtful engineering decisions.
• Contribute to architecture and implementation discussions with pragmatic technical trade-offs.
• Break down complex work into clear milestones and communicate status transparently.
• Refactor and simplify existing code where it improves long-term velocity and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong coding fundamentals with attention to reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience working with code reviews, testing practices, and collaborative delivery workflows.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear technical solutions.
• Comfort partnering with cross-functional teams in iterative product or platform environments.
• Strong debugging, communication, and ownership skills across the software lifecycle.
