Senior Software Engineer / Backend Developer is a delivery-focused opportunity based in Mumbai City, India.

Experience designing, developing, delivering, and scaling modern web applications - Strong experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Python, Java, C/C++, C# - Demonstrated expertise working with at least one modern enterprise application frameworks like Spring Boot, Play Framework, Django - Demonstrated expertise in building scalable distributed applications in microservices architecture - Expert knowledge of best practice software engineering methodologies and coding standards - Strong and proven advocacy for Test Driven Development is preferred - Experience with SQL (mySQL, Postgres, etc) and NoSQL (MongoDb, DynamoDB, Aerospike or Redis) - Production experience in running cloud-based enterprise-grade systems at scale - Natural ability to process requirements, figure out multiple execution options, their complexity, and estimate the scope of work required to get tasks done - DevOps experience - Cloud experience (AWS required, Google Cloud Platform bonus .

• Design, build, and improve software systems that support the goals of the Software Engineer / Backend Developer function.
• Translate product or business requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions.
• Write high-quality code with appropriate testing, code review, and documentation discipline.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and peer engineers to deliver reliable releases.
• Investigate bugs, performance issues, and production risks with a strong root-cause mindset.
• Improve system reliability, observability, and maintainability through thoughtful engineering decisions.
• Contribute to architecture and implementation discussions with pragmatic technical trade-offs.
• Break down complex work into clear milestones and communicate status transparently.
• Refactor and simplify existing code where it improves long-term velocity and quality.
• Support release readiness by validating edge cases, dependencies, and rollback considerations.
• Share knowledge through pairing, mentoring, documentation, and constructive code reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong coding fundamentals with attention to reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience working with code reviews, testing practices, and collaborative delivery workflows.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear technical solutions.
• Comfort partnering with cross-functional teams in iterative product or platform environments.
• Strong debugging, communication, and ownership skills across the software lifecycle.
