Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting & Risk Assessment

• Evaluate and underwrite proposals for property, fire, burglary, engineering, and other miscellaneous retail products.

• Analyze risk exposures, policy terms, and coverage requirements.

• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and regulatory norms.

Portfolio Management

• Monitor performance of underwritten risks and contribute to portfolio profitability.

• Identify trends and recommend corrective actions for adverse loss ratios.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Support channel partners and intermediaries with technical underwriting inputs.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and internal audit requirements.

Product Development & Innovation

• Provide feedback on product features and market trends.

• Collaborate with product teams to enhance offerings based on customer and market needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Insurance, Risk Management, or related field.

• Professional certifications (e.g., Fellowship/Associateship from III) preferred.

Experience:

• 3–6 years of underwriting experience in non-motor, non-health retail lines.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

• Knowledge of underwriting tools and risk assessment techniques.

• Proficiency in MS Office

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
