Workmen - Ship Repair · Mumbai

Cochin Shipyard Limited is recruiting for Workmen posts on a contract basis to support ship repair operations at the CMSRU Mumbai unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical, electrical, and structural repair tasks on designated marine vessels.
• Perform routine inspection, overhaul, and testing of shipboard machinery and auxiliary equipment.
• Assist in dry-docking and un-docking procedures adhering to shipyard operational protocols.
• Carry out welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication work according to technical specifications.
• Conduct preventative maintenance schedules to maintain operational reliability of equipment.
• Follow quality assurance standards and report structural or mechanical defects promptly.
• Comply with shipyard health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines at all times.
• Handle specialized shipyard tools, heavy equipment, and rigging apparatus safely.
• Assist senior technical personnel and supervisors with complex overhaul projects.
• Maintain proper logs of work completed, materials utilized, and parts replaced.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and workplace hazard mitigation drills.
• Ensure ship repair docks, workshops, and surrounding work areas remain clean and organized.
