About this role

Background:

BlackRock is recruiting for Associate role in their HR Payroll team. This role will partner closely with local HR teams and global stakeholders across Payroll, HR Operations and Finance in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.

The Associate will support the APAC/India Payroll function and local compliance requirements, including coordination with payroll vendors, banks for salary and statutory payments, tax filings, and social security obligations, along with providing support for payroll audits. The role requires working collaboratively with regional Payroll teams, assisting as a problem solver by proactively identifying issues, supporting timely resolutions, and ensuring smooth payroll operations while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Payroll processing of assigned APAC/India countries using a third-party payroll provider.

  • Validation of payroll input against payroll register and coordination with payroll vendors for required adjustments/corrections.

  • Coordinate with payroll vendors on timely payout to employees and submission of statutory payment of Tax & social insurance along with necessary filing.

  • Stay updated on the most recent tax laws and ensure Payroll is being processed accordingly.

  • Meet the vendor periodically to discuss performance and improvement opportunities.

  • Coordinate with various stakeholders like Finance, HRBPs to provide adhoc Payroll reports, as necessary.

  • Responsible for regulatory & compliance reporting

  • Supporting on the country related audit and responsible for sharing the various reports to stakeholder

  • Work closely with the Regional Payroll Head to support payroll reviews, operational governance, and ongoing payroll projects across APAC.

  • Assist the APAC Payroll team in executing regional initiatives, process improvements, system changes, and transition activities, ensuring alignment with regional and global payroll objectives.

Knowledge/ Qualifications:

  • 7 to 8 years of relevant experience in Payroll and compliances

  • Bachelors/ Masters’ degree, preferably in Finance

  • Experience working in APAC/India payroll, preferably for Singapore/ India.

  • Must be open to work late shifts

  • Good communication skills including fluency in English

  • Microsoft Excel and Word (essential), Workday (preferred)

  • Broad knowledge of HR concepts, processes and their interdependence

  • Understanding cross border taxation preferred.
