What You Will Do

<ul>
<li>Managing various cloud databases in AWS like PostgreSQL and MSSQL.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Responsible for database maintenance and upgrades.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Database performance monitoring, activity auditing, anomaly detection and alerting.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Ensure high availability, backup and recovery as per SLA and compliance requirements.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Develop and Implement process for optimising Data Security.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Proactively respond to production infrastructure alerts and warnings, mitigate production issues and transform incident lessons into automation, documentation to prevent a recurrence.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Discuss and contribute towards architectural and design decisions with the team and developers in optimising complex queries.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Participate in datastore related infrastructure POCs.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Other common DBA activities like configuration management, troubleshooting, performance Tuning, schema management, storage management, log management etc.</li>
</ul>

What You Will Need

<li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field of study.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Strong analytical skills with problem-solving; good documentation and communication skills.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>4+ years’ experience in the software industry with PostgreSQL, MSSQL.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Experience in database administration, design, development, maintenance, and production support of relational databases and business applications.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Knowledge of AWS Environment</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>General database administration skills in AWS.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Exposure to database monitoring/observability and alerting.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Exposure to handling on-call incidents (incident management and troubleshooting).</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Prior experience with database health reporting.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Exposure to performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, and database consistency checks using different utilities.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Good to have - Database hardening and compliance</li>
