Key Accountabilities:
Corporate Governance &amp; Compliance

Legal Advisory &amp; Business Support 

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Provide senior-level legal support to business units across APAC, including Japan-based and India-focused operations.</li>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Advise on complex legal matters including M&amp;A, finance transactions, and intellectual property. </li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, and strategic agreements. </li>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Taking conduct of significant Indian based legal matters.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Interpreting, negotiating and closing out complex deals for the Rail Sector Business Unit in India.</li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Interpreting and guiding senior management in relation to regulatory and legislative requirements.</li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Taking conduct of significant arbitrations and litigations.</li>
</ul>

Stakeholder Engagement

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Interfacing with senior management of Indian Hitachi Rail entity.</li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Coordinate and instruct external legal counsel to ensure quality and cost-effective legal services. </li>
</ul>

Risk Management &amp; Strategy 

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies. </li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Support strategic planning and decision-making with legal insights. </li>
</ul>

Education/Qualifications and Skill Sets Preferred:

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Law degree (LLB or JD) and admission to practice in relevant jurisdictions. Additional CS qualification and experience will be valuable too.</li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Minimum 8-10 years PQE, with a mix of private practice and in-house experience, preferably with experience at an international industrial company.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Proven track record in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation. </li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Experience working across APAC jurisdictions and in a multinational industrial company is highly desirable.</li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Knowledge and experience gained in rail, oil &amp; gas, power, aero, or the automotive industry sectors would be highly beneficial</li>
